When you write a book for kids, and you don't have kids, asking one of the neighbor's kids makes perfect sense.
Here are the interview answers I received yesterday from Kyleigh:
Question: What age-range of children do you think will enjoy "A Christmas Love Story: Nicholas Nutcracker & Brittany Ballerina" the best?
Answer: Probably ages 6-10.
Question: Do you think boys and girls will both enjoy the story?
Question: Who is your favorite character in the story and why?
Answer: Harmonie, because she is sweet by putting Brittany next to Nicholas.
Question: On behalf of younger children, did the story make you feel
happy and Christmassy?
Answer: Yes, it did.
Question: Did you like the idea of Nicholas & Brittany finding true love on the Christmas tree?
Question: I added a new page at the end of the book with a Kids Christmas Choir and the message: Spread kindness. Embrace diversity. Fight for peace. Could you add a thought or two on the subject?
Answer: Race, and who you love, shall not matter. Diversity is a good thing!
Editor note: Wise beyond her years!!!
Thanks again, Kyleigh!
And, to any other young readers of the book, please feel free to email me a photo and comments/review to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
