A Christmas Love Story:
Nicholas Nutcracker & Brittany Ballerina
New Children's Book - Coming July 1st, 2020
(just in time for Christmas in July).
After watching Hallmark Christmas movies more times than Maureen cares to admit, she reached maximum "Christmas Spirit" saturation by the end of December.
When she was ready to put her own beloved Christmas ornaments away, Maureen discovered some cute Christmas clipart of a dangling Nutcracker & Ballerina ornament.
It was then the idea for a children's story revealed itself from the clipart. While crafting the story, Maureen felt child-like joy imagining and writing (with some professional, kind, and helpful input from Editor, Judith Reveal (www.justcreativewriting.com). When she finished, McCabe enlisted an illustrator, Anastasiia Khmelevska, (www.fiverr.com), and graphic designer, Lauren Gallegos (www.laurengallegos.com), to bring the characters to life.
In-the-works is "Murray Korman's Vintage Babes of Broadway" (www.vintagebabesofbroadway.com) about publicity photographer, Murray Korman of NYC, who captured some of the most famous entertainers in the United States for nearly three decades from the 1930s to 1961. Betty Grable. Loretta Young. Eve Arden. Vivian Vance. Ann Miller. Julie Newmar. Bob Hope and a bevy of Broadway showgirls. History lovers will enjoy walking down 20th century Broadway! Clyde Adams, the curator for the Korman Family Collection, has created a lovely website (www.murraykorman.com) where you can learn more about the man and view many of his remarkable photographs.
In 2011, Maureen self-published a book entitled "Moon Over Vaudeville," which took a nostalgic look at her father's show business career as a tap dancer during the 1930s.

Moon Over Vaudeville
A Charming Morsel of History
The story is old. The writer is new. Maureen McCabe makes her writing debut with "Moon Over Vaudeville."
Maureen has thirty-five years of varied business experience, including the creation of marketing materials and newsletters, to her credit. For over two years, she enjoyed researching her father's Vaudeville career and the resulting book is one that she looks forward to sharing with a wider audience. Maureen and her husband, Rich, now call scenic Bellingham, WA their home and enjoy walking by the ocean and through the local forests whenever they can.
"Moon Over Vaudeville" is a family story and includes memories from Maureen's mother, Patty O'Toole. Her sister, Sharon Cairney, was instrumental during the creative process with her encouragement and ideas.
The amazing graphic design is by Clyde Adams. You can see more of Clyde's work at www.clydeadams.com.
